The Lost Remedy
Lost Remedy is the first motion capture project that I’ve ever participated in. We use X-Sen mocap system for motion capture, Meta Human for the character, and Live Link Face for facial capture. With all of these, we managed to create a short cinematic for the Lost Remedy game.
In this story, our female scientist protagonist has to find a mysterious flower that can cure a deadly disease that currently spreading the world and kill over half of the population of the world. However, this flower is rumored to be on an isolated island and worshiped by the natives. Our protagonist has to find and bring back this flower for research.
Experiences:
Collaborated with a team of three peers to direct a short film using motion capture technology despite our limited experience and tight deadlines. Faced with challenges in storyboarding, limited motion capture capabilities, and a lack of skilled artists, I devised creative solutions to streamline the process.
To help the actors visualize the scenes, I recorded team members performing key actions on the phone, providing clear references without relying on complex storyboards. Additionally, I proposed using POV shots and animating camera movements to simulate complex actions, such as a falling shot, avoiding the risk of damaging the motion capture suits and simplifying production. These solutions significantly reduced workload and helped our team complete the project successfully.
